Buffalo, New York – Gusty winds are expected to impact the Buffalo area tonight through Friday, with peak wind gusts reaching between 35 and 45 miles per hour.

According to the National Weather Service in Buffalo, southeast winds will strengthen overnight, with the strongest gusts expected along the Lake Erie shoreline. In some exposed areas, wind gusts may exceed 45 mph, while most inland locations are forecast to see gusts in the 35 to 45 mph range.

These winds may blow around unsecured outdoor objects and could result in downed tree limbs. A few isolated power outages are possible, particularly in areas that experience the strongest gusts.

Windy conditions are expected to continue through much of Friday before gradually easing later in the day. No precipitation-related hazards are currently associated with this system, but wind impacts alone may affect travel, especially for high-profile vehicles.

Residents are encouraged to secure loose items outdoors and remain cautious while traveling, especially near open areas and along the lakeshore.
