Buffalo, NY – Western New Yorkers will enjoy more mild fall weather today as a warming trend continues across the region, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Buffalo.

High temperatures on Friday, October 3, are expected to reach the low-to-mid 70s in most locations, with some areas around Buffalo and the Southern Tier climbing closer to 80 degrees. Conditions will remain sunny and pleasant through the afternoon.

According to the NWS, overnight lows will range from the mid-40s in higher elevations to the mid-50s across lower valleys and near Lake Erie. Skies are expected to stay mainly clear tonight, offering another calm evening across western and northern New York.

Forecasters note that even warmer temperatures are likely this weekend, with highs approaching the upper 70s to near 80 on Saturday and Sunday. The pattern will also feature fair, dry weather, making for ideal outdoor conditions for early October.

Residents across Buffalo, Erie County, Rochester, and surrounding communities can expect the warming spell to last into early next week before cooler fall air returns.
