Little Rock, AR – Residents across Arkansas can expect a warm, summer-like weekend with little chance of rain, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Little Rock.

According to NWS forecasters, zero to near-zero rain chances are expected statewide for both Saturday, October 4, and Sunday, October 5. The dry stretch comes as an upper-level ridge pattern sits over Arkansas, reinforced by surface high pressure across the Mid-Atlantic region. This weather setup will keep skies clear and conditions dry across the state.

Temperatures will also run slightly above normal for early October, but forecasters noted the heat will not be oppressive. Weekend highs across much of Arkansas are expected to reach the lower to mid-80s, with cooler overnight lows dipping into the 60s. Cities including Little Rock, Jonesboro, Texarkana, Fort Smith, Harrison, and Monticello are all expected to follow this warming trend.

While conditions remain quiet through Sunday, forecasters added that “respectable” rain chances are expected to re-enter the forecast early in the upcoming workweek.

This dry, warm weekend offers Arkansans a chance to enjoy outdoor events and travel without weather interruptions.
