Ann Arbor Crash Injures 71-Year-Old Pedestrian at Packard and Fernwood

Ann Arbor, MI – A 71-year-old woman sustained serious injuries in a pedestrian-vehicle crash Wednesday morning in Ann Arbor.

Ann Arbor Police, Fire, and Huron Valley Ambulance responded to the accident near Packard Street and Fernwood Avenue at 7:15 a.m. The injured woman, an Ann Arbor resident, was struck while walking in a marked crosswalk.

According to the police, witnesses stated the vehicle, driven by a 57-year-old Ann Arbor woman, was traveling eastbound on Packard Street. The car proceeded through a green light at Fernwood Avenue when it struck the pedestrian.

Emergency personnel transported the victim to a local hospital. Officials confirmed the driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation. Authorities added that alcohol does not appear to have contributed to the crash.
