Utica, NY – Law enforcement officials in Oneida County confirmed the arrest of a Verona man on Monday, September 14, 2026, following a coordinated operation by a federal fugitive task force. Sherrieff Bradley, 44, was taken into custody on an active bench warrant issued by the Oneida County Court.
According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M. Maciol, the arrest was carried out by members of the United States Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force—Utica Division. Investigators had been tracking Bradley after he failed to appear in court on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, which prompted the issuance of a Superior Court Bench Warrant on Thursday, September 10, 2026.
The arrest occurred during an investigation on September 14, 2026, when task force members spotted Bradley as a passenger in a vehicle. With assistance from the Utica Police Department 's Uniform Patrol and K 9 units, officers conducted a vehicle stop at the intersection of North Genesee Street and Auert Avenue. Bradley was taken into custody without incident. Authorities reported that a search conducted during the arrest uncovered a quantity of cocaine on his person.
In addition to the existing charges—which include first degree burglary, second degree assault, and child endangerment stemming from a 2020 domestic incident—Bradley now faces new legal trouble. The Oneida County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit has charged him with fourth degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a Class C felony. Bradley was transported to the Oneida County Jail and is being held pending arraignment at the Central Arraignment Part of the Oneida County Jail.
