Harrison, NY – A traffic stop on the Hutchinson River Parkway in Westchester County allegedly led New York State Police to approximately 500 glassine envelopes containing heroin and the arrest of a Massachusetts man.
According to New York State Police , members of the Troop K Community Stabilization Unit stopped a vehicle traveling northbound on the Hutchinson River Parkway in the Town of Harrison at approximately 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2026 , for alleged violations of New York vehicle and traffic laws.
Police identified the vehicle’s occupant as Angel L. Sanchez, 35, of Chicopee, Massachusetts .
During the investigation, State Police K9 Vinn conducted an exterior sniff of the vehicle and allegedly alerted to the odor of narcotics, authorities said.
Troopers then conducted what police described as a probable cause search of the vehicle. Investigators allegedly discovered approximately 500 glassine envelopes containing heroin .
Sanchez was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree with intent to sell and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree , according to State Police.
Both offenses are listed by authorities as Class B felonies .
Police said Sanchez was issued an appearance ticket directing him to return to the Town of Harrison Court at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2026 .
New York State Police did not provide additional information in the release about the exact weight of the suspected heroin or where investigators believe it allegedly originated.
The charges are accusations. Sanchez is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
