Buffalo, NY – Residents across western and north central New York should prepare for a cooler, unsettled start to the weekend as a passing cold front brings rain showers Friday, November 6, followed by another round of showery weather and falling temperatures Saturday.
According to the National Weather Service in Buffalo, light rain showers will move east across the region Friday as a cold front passes through, bringing a noticeable change in temperatures heading into the weekend.
Friday's forecast calls for afternoon highs ranging from 55 to 63 degrees, with scattered showers moving through communities across the forecast area.
Overnight temperatures are expected to fall between 32 and 40 degrees, setting the stage for a cooler Saturday morning.
The National Weather Service expects additional showers Saturday as cooler moisture wraps around the departing weather system.
Saturday's highs will range from 47 to 53 degrees, marking a noticeable drop from Friday's warmer conditions.
Rain showers are expected to persist throughout portions of the region, particularly east of the Great Lakes, where lingering moisture will support additional precipitation.
Communities around Buffalo, Rochester, Niagara Falls and areas east of Lake Ontario could experience periods of damp, chilly weather as the system moves through.
Saturday night temperatures are forecast to range from 35 to 41 degrees, keeping conditions cool heading into Sunday morning.
The combination of scattered rain and lower temperatures could make outdoor activities less comfortable, particularly for residents attending sporting events, community gatherings or other weekend activities.
Motorists traveling along Interstate 90 and other major highways should remain alert for wet pavement and occasional reduced visibility during passing showers.
The National Weather Service has not indicated significant rainfall totals or severe thunderstorms in its latest forecast graphic.
Residents should prepare for changing conditions throughout Friday and Saturday, with additional showers possible as the cooler air settles across the region.
