Binghamton, NY – Cool, dry weather will continue across the Binghamton region Tuesday before temperatures climb Wednesday, with a few showers possible Thursday, Oct. 8.
According to the National Weather Service in Binghamton, high pressure will build across the region through Wednesday, keeping conditions dry through Wednesday night. The high will then move east as temperatures warm.
Binghamton is forecast to reach 57 degrees Tuesday with a low of 40. Wednesday's high climbs to 68 with another low around 40 before temperatures reach 69 Thursday. Thursday night's low is forecast around 51.
The warming trend will be widespread. Elmira is forecast to rise from 59 Tuesday to 69 Wednesday and Thursday, while Syracuse climbs from 57 Tuesday to 69 Wednesday before a high of 66 Thursday.
Farther south, Wilkes Barre and Scranton are forecast to reach 69 Wednesday and 73 Thursday. Ithaca is expected to reach 70 Wednesday before a high of 68 Thursday.
Tuesday will feature sunshine, with regional highs generally in the mid 50s to near 60. Wednesday should be partly to mostly sunny, with highs reaching the mid 60s to near 70.
By Thursday, partly sunny conditions are expected, but the NWS said a few showers will be possible. Regional highs will range from the mid 60s into the lower 70s.
Residents should expect dry weather through Wednesday night, followed by a chance for showers Thursday as high pressure shifts east of the region.
