Albany, NY – Sunny, seasonable weather will prevail across eastern New York and western New England Saturday before clouds increase and a few showers become possible late Sunday.
According to the National Weather Service in Albany, high pressure will build eastward across the region Saturday, bringing sunshine and afternoon temperatures ranging from 58 to 68 degrees.
Saturday night will be mostly clear and cool. Temperatures are forecast to fall between 32 and 46 degrees across the region, with patchy fog possible.
The forecast range indicates the coldest locations could reach the freezing mark, but the NWS graphic does not identify a widespread freeze or specify which communities will reach 32 degrees.
High pressure begins moving east Sunday as another disturbance approaches. Skies will become partly sunny, with highs ranging from 58 to 66 degrees.
A few showers could develop late in the day, particularly in areas south and east of Albany. The NWS describes the chance as low, so most of Sunday is expected to remain dry.
The weekend forecast therefore varies somewhat by location, particularly Sunday afternoon and evening. Communities south and east of the Capital Region have the better opportunity for a passing shower, while other areas may stay dry.
Residents should expect sunshine and seasonable temperatures Saturday, followed by a chilly night with patchy fog. Clouds increase Sunday, with the next limited chance for showers arriving late in the day.
