MOUNT HOLLY, NJ – A widespread rain system is expected to bring soaking conditions to New Jersey, southeastern Pennsylvania and Delaware beginning Thursday, November 5, with coastal communities potentially receiving up to 3 inches of rainfall before conditions improve Friday night.
According to the National Weather Service in Philadelphia/Mount Holly, isolated to scattered showers will develop Thursday before becoming more widespread Thursday night into Friday. A few thunderstorms are also possible as the system moves through the region.
Coastal New Jersey Faces Highest Rainfall Totals The heaviest rainfall is forecast along the New Jersey coast, particularly around Atlantic City and Cape May.

Farther inland, Philadelphia and Trenton could receive around 1 to 1.5 inches, while portions of northern New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania may see considerably less.
Localized roadway ponding and reduced visibility could affect motorists during periods of heavier rainfall, particularly in coastal communities.
Rain Continues Friday Before Cooler Weekend Thursday temperatures will remain mild, with highs ranging from 65 to 76 degrees across the forecast region.
Rain coverage increases overnight, with thunderstorms possible before another wet day Friday.
Friday temperatures are expected to reach 65 to 71 degrees, followed by overnight lows falling into the middle 40s to lower 50s.
The National Weather Service expects the heaviest rainfall near the coast, with conditions becoming drier Friday night.
