Nashua, NH – Fifty three years ago today, 22 year old Dorothy Ann Bois was reported missing from Nashua. More than half a century later, New Hampshire authorities are still searching for the information that could explain what happened to her.
According to New Hampshire State Police, Bois was reported missing to the Nashua Police Department during the early morning hours of Oct. 4, 1973.
At the time of her disappearance, Bois was 22 years old, stood about 4 feet, 10 inches tall and weighed approximately 100 pounds, according to authorities.
Her disappearance eventually became a cold case, but investigators have not forgotten her.
In March 2009, Nashua police reopened the investigation into Bois' disappearance. That renewed investigation eventually led authorities to obtain search warrants for two Nashua properties, located at 247 Main Dunstable Road and 19 Woodbury Drive , according to state police.
Police said searches of those properties have since been completed. Authorities did not announce in the post what, if anything, investigators recovered during those searches.
Now, on the 53rd anniversary of Bois' disappearance, New Hampshire State Police are once again putting her name and photograph before the public in hopes that someone may have information that helps investigators determine what happened.
Even information that may have seemed insignificant decades ago could potentially matter to investigators reviewing a case this old.
Anyone with information about Dorothy Ann Bois' disappearance can submit a tip to the New Hampshire Cold Case Unit through its online tip form or email coldcaseunit@dos.nh.gov .
After 53 years without answers, investigators are still asking one central question: What happened to Dorothy Ann Bois?
