Manchester, NH – Thanksgiving travelers across New Hampshire could encounter early season winter weather as a long range outlook leaves room for flurries in northern and higher elevation parts of the Northeast. Manchester, Concord and communities in the White Mountains may experience different conditions ahead of Thanksgiving on Thursday, Nov. 26.
According to the Farmers' Almanac's Oct. 19 update, its Northeast forecast region favors cool, mostly fair weather from Monday, Nov. 23, through Thanksgiving Day, with possible flurries in northern and higher elevation areas.
The publication describes the broader regional pattern as favorable for holiday travel. However, it does not provide snowfall totals, accumulation probabilities or specific timing for Manchester, Concord or other New Hampshire communities.
Geography could play an important role. Manchester and Nashua, located in southern New Hampshire, often experience different late autumn conditions than communities farther north.
Concord can experience November snowfall, while higher elevations around the White Mountains, including areas near Lincoln and Mount Washington, are more susceptible to early season winter weather.
Cold air and elevation can also influence whether precipitation falls as rain or snow. A system producing rain in southern New Hampshire could bring accumulating snow to northern mountain communities.
NOAA's November outlook favors above normal temperatures along portions of the East Coast, although uncertainty remains greater across New England. Those monthly probabilities do not determine conditions during Thanksgiving week.
A warmer than average November can still include freezing nights and snow showers. Similarly, a mostly fair regional outlook does not eliminate the possibility of localized flurries.
For Thanksgiving travelers, I 93 between Manchester, Concord and the White Mountains, along with I 89 and major mountain routes, are important corridors to monitor if colder weather develops.
No specific highway disruptions have been established by the Almanac's projection.
Could New Hampshire see snow before Thanksgiving 2026? Yes, particularly in northern and higher elevation communities. However, the regional outlook does not confirm snowfall for Manchester, Concord or Nashua.
Travelers should consult updated National Weather Service forecasts closer to Thanksgiving for more reliable snowfall timing, accumulation expectations and road conditions.
