MANCHESTER, N.H. — A subfreezing start to November will quickly give way to a dramatic warmup in southern New Hampshire, with Manchester climbing from an overnight low near 27 degrees to highs around 70 by the middle of the week.
The National Weather Service forecast for Manchester calls for sunshine and a high near 59 Sunday, Nov. 1, after temperatures fall to around 27 overnight. Monday jumps to approximately 69 degrees, followed by 68 Tuesday, 70 Wednesday and 71 Thursday.
From the 20s to Near 70 The initial warmup remains largely dry. Sunday is expected to be sunny, followed by mostly sunny skies Monday and partly sunny conditions Tuesday. Wednesday returns to mostly sunny skies as temperatures reach around 70.
Overnight lows also trend noticeably milder. After Sunday's low around 27, Sunday night falls to approximately 37. Monday night reaches only 42, followed by 45 Tuesday night and 49 Wednesday night. By Thursday night, the forecast low is around 53.
That means Manchester moves from temperatures well below freezing early Sunday to an afternoon high around 71 by Thursday, Nov. 5 — a roughly 44 degree difference between the coldest early November reading and the warmest forecast high.
Rain Returns Late Week A wetter change begins Thursday night, when the Weather Service lists a 50% chance of rain.
Rain becomes likely Friday with a 60% chance and a high near 67. Friday night carries a 70% chance of rain with temperatures falling to around 46, while rain remains likely Saturday with a 60% chance and a cooler high near 61.
The late week rain is notable, but temperature remains the stronger November story for New Hampshire.
November Warmth Could Persist NOAA's November temperature outlook favors above normal temperatures across New Hampshire, and the Climate Prediction Center's separate outlook valid Nov. 8–14 continues to favor above normal temperatures across New England.
That fits the broader Northeast pattern established for the first half of November: warmth remains the dominant extended signal, while precipitation carries a much weaker long range story.
The outlook does not mean Manchester will stay near 70 every day through Nov. 14. Individual cold fronts, freezing nights and colder days remain possible. It means the average temperature over that seven day period is favored to finish warmer than normal.
For Manchester, however, the immediate contrast is striking: 20s to start November, near 70 by Monday, and around 70–71 again Wednesday and Thursday.
It remains too early to forecast Thanksgiving Day on Nov. 26, but the persistent warm signal is worth watching as New Hampshire moves toward the holiday travel season.
