Manchester, NH – Thirty six years after a 30 year old man died from injuries suffered in an assault, New Hampshire authorities are again asking the public for information that could help solve the Manchester homicide.
According to New Hampshire State Police, Christopher Kaldaras was discovered Oct. 7, 1990, after Manchester Police detectives were called to a local hospital regarding an assault victim who was in a coma.
Detectives identified the victim as Kaldaras and learned he had suffered serious trauma to the head. He later died from his injuries, turning the investigation into a homicide case that remains unsolved decades later.
During the investigation, detectives determined Kaldaras had been assaulted in the area of Spruce and Union streets in Manchester approximately one or two days before he was admitted to the hospital, state police said.
Despite what authorities described as an extensive investigation, detectives were unable to identify a suspect in his death.
Now, on the 36th anniversary of Kaldaras' death, New Hampshire State Police are highlighting the case and asking anyone who may have information to come forward.
Even decades later, information from witnesses or others familiar with the circumstances surrounding an unsolved killing can potentially provide investigators with new leads.
Anyone with information about Kaldaras' death can submit a tip to the New Hampshire Cold Case Unit through the agency's online cold case tip form. Tips can also be emailed to coldcaseunit@dos.nh.gov .
Authorities said the goal remains finding answers in the unsolved Manchester homicide and bringing justice to Kaldaras' family.
