Concord, NH – New Hampshire State Police are renewing their appeal for information in two unsolved homicide investigations involving four victims, including a deadly Portsmouth arson fire that occurred exactly 40 years ago and the killing of a Manchester woman discovered 16 years ago.
According to New Hampshire State Police, both cases share an October 11 anniversary, with investigators continuing to seek information that could help bring answers to the victims' families.
The first case dates to October 11, 1986 , when Joseph Poulin, 29, and Terry Giles, 24, died following a fire at their home at 314 Islington St. in Portsmouth.
The fire was discovered around 3:25 a.m. Investigators later determined the blaze had been intentionally set.
A third victim, Linda Plummer, 39, died March 30, 1987, at Massachusetts General Hospital from burns suffered in the fire.
The deaths remain part of an unsolved homicide investigation four decades later.
The second case involves Lynne Brennan, 53, whose body was discovered October 11, 2010, in Manchester.
Police were called to Brennan's residence at 267 North River Road after she had not been seen for approximately one week.
Upon entering the home, officers discovered her deceased.
Brennan was last seen publicly October 4, 2010, at approximately 3:29 p.m. at Bunny's Superette, located at 75 Webster St. in Manchester.
Investigators believe she was killed sometime before October 10, although her body was not discovered until the following day.
Both investigations remain unsolved, and authorities are encouraging anyone with information, regardless of how much time has passed, to come forward.
Tips can be submitted to the New Hampshire State Police Cold Case Unit at coldcaseunit@dos.nh.gov .
The department also provides online tip submission options for both investigations.
As these cases mark their 40th and 16th anniversaries, investigators are asking the public to help bring justice to four victims whose deaths remain unresolved.
