Omaha, NE — Residents across eastern Nebraska should prepare for changing weather conditions Wednesday, Oct. 28, as morning fog gives way to developing afternoon and evening thunderstorms, some of which could produce hail and gusty winds.
According to the National Weather Service in Omaha/Valley, patchy dense fog will continue across northern Nebraska Wednesday morning, potentially reducing visibility for drivers traveling through affected areas.
A few sprinkles are also possible during the morning before conditions become increasingly favorable for showers and thunderstorms later in the day.
Wednesday afternoon and evening bring the greatest immediate storm concern , with forecasters indicating that a few stronger thunderstorms could produce hail and gusty winds.
Temperatures across the forecast region are expected to range from 65 to 82 degrees Wednesday, providing a relatively warm late October afternoon ahead of the developing storms.
Communities across the Omaha metropolitan area and surrounding eastern Nebraska counties should monitor changing conditions, particularly during evening travel.
Although stronger thunderstorms are possible, the National Weather Service has not specified hail sizes, wind speeds or an organized severe weather risk level in its latest outlook.
