Omaha, NE – Families across eastern Nebraska and western Iowa should prepare for a potentially wet Halloween as several rounds of showers and thunderstorms move through the region this week, with rain chances reaching as high as 70% during portions of Saturday, Oct. 31.
According to the National Weather Service in Omaha/Valley, periodic showers and thunderstorms are possible each day through the beginning of the weekend, although not every community will receive rainfall every day.
Rain Chances Begin Tuesday
Tuesday, Oct. 27, will bring a chance of showers across the region, with afternoon temperatures ranging from 58 to 70 degrees.
Wednesday, Oct. 28, brings another opportunity for thunderstorms, with highs between 67 and 80 degrees.
Overnight temperatures Wednesday are expected to range from 48 to 57 degrees.
Thunderstorms Remain Possible Through Friday
Thursday, Oct. 29, will feature temperatures between 63 and 75 degrees, with a chance of thunderstorms developing during the nighttime hours.
Friday, Oct. 30, brings additional thunderstorm chances, with highs ranging from 64 to 77 degrees.
Residents traveling across the Omaha metropolitan area and surrounding communities should remain alert for changing conditions where showers develop.
Halloween Saturday Brings Rain Concerns
Saturday, Oct. 31, could be one of the more unsettled days of the week.
The National Weather Service forecasts a 40% to 70% chance of rainfall during the day, with temperatures reaching 64 to 69 degrees.
Rain chances are expected to decrease to approximately 20% to 30% Saturday evening, potentially offering improved conditions for trick or treating.
Overnight temperatures are forecast between 52 and 56 degrees.
Although showers remain possible, the decreasing evening rain probabilities suggest Halloween activities may not face continuous rainfall.
Families planning outdoor celebrations should monitor updated forecasts and consider backup plans.
The supplied outlook does not identify a specific severe weather threat.
