Hastings, NE – Rain and clouds will clear from south central Nebraska tonight, setting up a dry and sunny stretch Friday and Saturday with highs returning to the 60s and lower 70s.
According to the National Weather Service in Hastings, the wet and cloudy pattern of the past several days will begin moving out tonight. Temperatures are forecast to fall into the 40s as skies gradually clear.
Overnight lows across the forecast area will range from 41 to 49 degrees. North northeast winds are expected at 5 to 10 mph.
Friday will bring a significant improvement in conditions, with mostly sunny skies and no rain indicated in the NWS outlook. Afternoon temperatures are forecast to reach 60 to 65 degrees, accompanied by variable winds of 5 to 10 mph.
Even warmer weather arrives Saturday. Sunshine is expected throughout the day, with highs ranging from 66 to 72 degrees. Winds will turn southerly at 10 to 15 mph.
The forecast marks a transition from several days of rain and cloud cover to a quieter early October weather pattern across the Hastings NWS forecast area, which covers portions of south central Nebraska and north central Kansas.
No hazardous weather is highlighted in the outlook issued Thursday afternoon. The main change tonight will be clearing skies and cooler overnight temperatures before sunshine returns.
