Hastings, NE – Dry and sunny conditions are expected across south central Nebraska Monday, Oct. 5, with temperatures reaching the 70s and lower 80s as southerly winds strengthen during the day.
According to the National Weather Service in Hastings, Monday highs across its forecast area will range from the mid 70s to lower 80s. South winds of 5 to 25 mph could gust as high as 35 mph.
Temperatures will fall into the mid 40s to lower 50s Monday night before another warm day Tuesday.
Tuesday is forecast to be partly cloudy and warmer, with highs ranging from the lower to mid 80s. Winds will be much lighter than Monday, becoming variable at 5 to 10 mph. Overnight lows will range from the lower to upper 50s.
Mostly sunny conditions continue Wednesday. Highs are expected to range from the mid 70s to mid 80s, with lows Wednesday night from the lower to upper 50s. Winds will be from the north to east at 5 to 10 mph.
No precipitation is shown in the NWS three day outlook, and the agency expects dry conditions to continue through Wednesday.
Residents should expect Monday to be the breeziest of the next three days, with southerly gusts potentially reaching 35 mph. Winds will become considerably lighter Tuesday and Wednesday while warm, dry weather continues.
