ST. LOUIS, MO – Several days of hot October sunshine will give way to showers and possible thunderstorms Wednesday, Oct. 14, bringing potentially wet roads and changing travel conditions across the St. Louis metropolitan area.
According to the National Weather Service, precipitation chances climb to 70% Wednesday, with thunderstorms possible during the afternoon. The unsettled conditions could affect commuters, outdoor workers and residents planning afternoon activities.
Wednesday's high will reach approximately 84 degrees before temperatures fall to around 65 overnight. Showers remain likely Wednesday night, with a 60% chance of precipitation and thunderstorms possible after 1 a.m.
The approaching rain follows an unusually hot stretch across the St. Louis area, including nearby communities in St. Louis County and southwestern Illinois.
Sunday, Oct. 11, brings sunny skies and temperatures reaching 89 degrees. Light winds and dry conditions should support outdoor activities throughout the afternoon.
Monday, Oct. 12, marks the warmest day in the forecast, with sunshine pushing temperatures to approximately 94 degrees. Southwest winds will range from 6 to 10 mph.
