St. Louis, MO – A stretch of warm October weather is expected to continue across the St. Louis metropolitan area through Saturday, October 24, with temperatures climbing into the middle and upper 70s before a gradual cooldown develops early next week. Residents across St. Louis city, St. Louis County and neighboring communities in southwestern Illinois can expect several days of sunshine, comfortable afternoons and generally dry conditions heading into the weekend.
According to the National Weather Service in St. Louis, temperatures are forecast to reach approximately 75 degrees Wednesday, 77 degrees Thursday and 75 degrees Friday before climbing to 76 degrees Saturday. Sunday could be even warmer, with afternoon temperatures approaching 78 degrees.
The extended warmth comes as a broader upper level ridge supports above normal temperatures across portions of the central United States through the weekend.
While significant storms affect parts of the western United States, the immediate St. Louis forecast favors sunshine and dry weather, creating favorable conditions for outdoor recreation, fall activities and weekend travel.

Tuesday also introduces a 20% chance of showers, signaling a possible transition away from the extended dry weather pattern.
Looking farther ahead, NOAA's Climate Prediction Center outlook for October 28 through November 3 favors above normal temperatures across eastern Missouri and southwestern Illinois.
The same outlook indicates a tilt toward above normal precipitation across the region, although it does not identify specific rainy days or rainfall totals.
For St. Louis residents, the immediate forecast remains focused on warm afternoons, mostly sunny skies and several more days of pleasant October weather before temperatures begin easing next week.
