St. Louis, MO – A 25 year old St. Louis County man has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison after attempting to arrange sexual contact with a 14 year old girl in Jefferson County, Missouri, in a case involving Snapchat messages and an encounter outside the teenager's home.
According to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Missouri, U.S. District Judge Cristian M. Stevens sentenced Tay'vion K. Like, of Bellefontaine Neighbors, on Thursday, October 22.
Snapchat Messages Led to Investigation Federal prosecutors said Like communicated with the teenager through Snapchat in July 2025 and requested sexual contact despite being told she was 14 years old.
Like reportedly claimed he was 17 and told the girl he wanted to visit her home for sexual activity.
The teenager warned him not to come and said she would contact police.
On July 15, 2025, she discovered Like outside her residence and instructed him to leave before notifying her father.
Her father contacted the Jefferson County Sheriff 's Office, and deputies located Like near the home.
Judge Orders Lifetime Supervision Like pleaded guilty in July 2026 to one count of coercion and enticement of a minor.
During sentencing, Judge Stevens expressed concern about Like's previous indecent exposure conviction and the need to protect children in the community.
In addition to the 10 year prison sentence, Like was ordered to serve a lifetime of supervised release following imprisonment.
The judge also ordered him to pay $1,210 in restitution to the victim.
Federal Authorities Investigated Case Prosecutors said Like also admitted communicating sexually with other underage girls through Snapchat.
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office and FBI investigated the case, while Assistant U.S. Attorney Jillian Anderson handled the prosecution.
The case was brought under Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide U.S. Department of Justice initiative targeting child sexual exploitation and abuse.
