ST. LOUIS, MO — St. Louis is approaching November with a significant warmup in the immediate forecast, including temperatures expected to reach 80 degrees this weekend. The unusually mild late October stretch comes just before NOAA's Oct. 26–Nov. 1 extended outlook, raising the question of whether the warmth could carry into the beginning of November.
According to NOAA's Climate Prediction Center, the eight to 14 day outlook issued Sunday, Oct. 18, covers Monday, Oct. 26, through Sunday, Nov. 1. That forecast period evaluates overall temperature and precipitation tendencies rather than individual daily highs and lows. Missouri's specific probability categories still require confirmation from the corresponding CPC maps.
St. Louis Temperatures Climb Toward 80 Degrees The National Weather Service's St. Louis area forecast shows a steady warming trend throughout the week, with mostly sunny skies and increasingly mild afternoon temperatures.
Monday, Oct. 19, is expected to reach approximately 72 degrees, followed by 74 degrees Tuesday. Wednesday brings another increase, with sunshine and a high near 77 degrees.
By Thursday, temperatures are forecast to reach 79 degrees, putting the region close to the 80 degree mark before the weekend arrives.
Friday's high is expected near 78 degrees, while Saturday and Sunday could both reach 80 degrees under mostly sunny skies.
The forecast applies to a location near Brooklyn, Illinois, immediately across the Mississippi River from downtown St. Louis. It provides useful nearby context, although temperatures may differ elsewhere across the metropolitan area.
Mild Nights Add to the Late October Warmup Overnight temperatures are also expected to gradually increase as the week progresses.
Monday night's low is forecast near 47 degrees, with similar readings Tuesday night. By Wednesday night, temperatures are expected to remain around 50 degrees, followed by 51 Thursday night.
Friday night is forecast to remain mostly clear with a low near 51 degrees, while Saturday night's temperature could stay around 54 degrees.
At St. Louis Lambert International Airport, conditions were fair early Monday, with a temperature of 46 degrees, humidity at 79% and an east wind near 3 mph.
The combination of warmer afternoons and relatively mild nights could make the final full week of October feel less like the approach of winter.
Will the Warmth Continue Into November? The next question is whether this late October warming trend will persist into NOAA's Oct. 26–Nov. 1 outlook period.
The current local forecast supports temperatures near 80 degrees through Sunday, Oct. 25, but it does not establish specific highs or lows for the following week.
Likewise, the extended precipitation outlook must be evaluated independently. Sunny conditions during the current week do not necessarily mean the following week will be dry.
Residents across St. Louis County, St. Charles County and nearby communities in southwestern Illinois should monitor updated forecasts as November approaches.
The coming days will help clarify whether the warm pattern continues, weakens or gives way to more seasonable conditions.
Would you welcome another stretch of 80 degree weather in November, or are you ready for colder fall temperatures in St. Louis?
