St. Louis, MO – Widespread rainfall is expected across eastern Missouri and portions of southwest Illinois on Tuesday, November 3, with rain probabilities reaching 90%–100% and wind gusts approaching 30 mph as a storm system moves through the region.
According to the National Weather Service in St. Louis, the workweek will begin with generally dry and mild conditions Monday, November 2, before rain chances increase Monday night and become widespread Tuesday.
Monday afternoon temperatures are forecast to reach 65 to 75 degrees , providing a relatively warm start to November across the St. Louis metropolitan area and surrounding communities.
Rain could begin developing Monday afternoon across portions of central and northeastern Missouri before spreading into additional areas overnight.
The most significant weather change arrives Tuesday, November 3, when the National Weather Service forecasts a 90%–100% chance of rain across the region.
Tuesday will also bring gusty winds, with peak gusts reaching approximately 30 mph in some locations.
Afternoon temperatures are expected to remain mild, ranging from 70 to 75 degrees, while overnight lows settle between 60 and 65 degrees.
Although widespread rain is expected, the risk of thunderstorms remains considerably lower.
Forecasters indicate a 20%–30% chance of thunderstorms Tuesday , meaning some communities could experience thunder and lightning while others receive primarily steady rainfall.
The combination of wet pavement and gusty winds could create challenging travel conditions, particularly during Tuesday's morning and evening commutes.
Drivers traveling along Interstate 70, Interstate 44 and Interstate 55 should remain alert for reduced visibility and changing road conditions during periods of heavier rain.
By Wednesday, November 4, rainfall is expected to gradually end from west to east as slightly cooler air moves into the region.
Wednesday afternoon temperatures will range from 60 to 70 degrees , with overnight lows dropping between 45 and 55 degrees.
Most locations should experience improving conditions as the storm system departs.
