SPRINGFIELD, MO – Southwest Missouri will experience several more days of above average temperatures, with highs potentially reaching 93 degrees Monday, Oct. 12, as a stretch of unusually warm October weather continues across the region.
According to the National Weather Service in Springfield, warm conditions are expected to persist through at least Tuesday, with mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies and no precipitation indicated in the agency's five day outlook issued Friday morning.
Friday, Oct. 9, will feature sunshine and afternoon temperatures ranging from 87 to 91 degrees across the forecast area. Overnight lows are expected between 54 and 61 degrees.
Saturday brings a modest cooldown, with partly cloudy skies and highs ranging from 78 to 88 degrees. Temperatures Saturday night are forecast to fall between 51 and 58 degrees.
Warmer conditions return Sunday, Oct. 11, when afternoon highs are expected to climb into the 85 to 89 degree range. Overnight lows will range from 58 to 68 degrees.
Monday is forecast to be the warmest day of the five day period, with temperatures reaching 91 to 93 degrees under sunny skies. Monday night's lows are expected between 63 and 70 degrees.
The warmth continues Tuesday, Oct. 13, with highs ranging from 87 to 91 degrees and mostly sunny conditions.
The forecast represents a prolonged period of above average October temperatures across the Springfield region, with the warmest conditions expected early next week.
No rainfall or thunderstorm chances are highlighted in the Weather Service's five day graphic.
Residents across southwest Missouri should expect a partly cloudy weekend followed by another surge of warmth Monday, with temperatures remaining well above seasonal averages through Tuesday.
