Springfield, MO – Residents across southwest Missouri can expect an unusually warm and dry stretch beginning Saturday, October 24, with afternoon temperatures approaching 80 degrees and comfortable fall weather continuing through the middle of next week.
According to the National Weather Service NWS in Springfield, temperatures will remain warmer than normal through at least Wednesday, October 28, with partly sunny skies and little precipitation expected across the region.
Weekend Temperatures Could Reach 81 Degrees
Saturday, October 24, is expected to bring some of the warmest conditions, with afternoon highs ranging from 77 to 81 degrees and overnight lows between 47 and 56 degrees.
Sunday, October 25, will feature similar conditions, with highs again reaching 77 to 81 degrees and lows between 48 and 56 degrees.
The mild temperatures could provide favorable conditions for outdoor activities, fall festivals, yard work and weekend travel throughout Springfield, Greene County and surrounding southwest Missouri communities.
Warm, Dry Weather Continues Next Week
The warmer than normal pattern is expected to continue Monday, October 26, with highs between 75 and 77 degrees.
A slight cooldown arrives Tuesday, October 27, when temperatures are forecast to reach 72 to 75 degrees, although conditions should remain relatively mild.
By Wednesday, October 28, afternoon highs are expected to rebound slightly into the 75 to 77 degree range.
Overnight temperatures throughout the five day period will generally remain in the upper 40s to middle 50s.
The extended dry weather also means residents should remain mindful of outdoor burning conditions, particularly where vegetation and fallen leaves have dried out.
For now, the NWS outlook indicates no significant rain during the five day period, giving southwest Missouri several opportunities to enjoy the unusually mild late October weather.
