Kansas City, MO – Above normal temperatures will continue across the Kansas City region through the weekend, with highs climbing into the 80s and generally dry weather expected.
According to the National Weather Service in Kansas City, temperatures will run about 10 to 15 degrees above normal for this time of year. Normal highs are currently in the lower 70s and will fall into the upper 60s by the beginning of next week.
For the Kansas City area, Tuesday's high is forecast near 83 degrees, followed by 85 Wednesday, 78 Thursday and 81 Friday. The warming trend strengthens again during the weekend, with highs near 83 Saturday and 84 Sunday.
Some communities in the broader forecast area could be warmer. Boonville is forecast to reach 89 degrees Sunday, while Warrensburg could reach 86 and Sedalia 86.
Overnight temperatures in the Kansas City area will generally remain in the 50s and lower 60s. Tuesday night's low is forecast around 53, with lows near 59 Wednesday night, 58 Thursday night and 58 Friday night.
The forecast is generally dry through the weekend. The NWS indicates only a low chance of precipitation — less than 10% — from Thursday night into Friday morning.
The temperature values vary across the agency's Missouri and Kansas forecast area, so the warmest readings shown in the outlook should not be applied to every community.
Residents should expect above normal warmth and mostly dry conditions through the weekend, with only a limited opportunity for rain late Thursday night into Friday morning.
