Mississippi residents are waking up to crisp November air, but a noticeable warmup is already taking shape. Temperatures could climb into the mid 70s by Tuesday, following a chilly stretch near 39 degrees.
The changing weather pattern will bring comfortable afternoons, cooler evenings and patchy morning fog across the Jackson area.
According to the National Weather Service in Jackson, temperatures should reach approximately 67 degrees Saturday afternoon. North winds of 5 to 10 mph will accompany partly sunny skies.
By early Sunday, temperatures could fall near 39 degrees, creating a sharp contrast between chilly mornings and increasingly mild afternoons.
Sunday Brings Sunshine Before Monday Fog Develops Sunday looks favorable for outdoor activities, with mostly sunny skies and temperatures reaching approximately 69 degrees.
Light winds and dry conditions should make the afternoon comfortable for yard cleanup, outdoor recreation and weekend travel.
However, another weather concern develops heading into Monday.
Patchy fog could form after 4 a.m. Monday and linger until approximately 7 a.m.
Motorists traveling Interstate 20, Interstate 55 and surrounding roads should remain alert for localized visibility reductions.
Use low beam headlights when encountering fog and increase following distances.
Monday afternoon brings a noticeable improvement, with mostly sunny skies and temperatures climbing toward 73 degrees.

That represents a 36 degree difference between Saturday night's projected low and Tuesday's high.
Wednesday, Veterans Day, continues the mild pattern, with mostly sunny skies and another high near 75 degrees.
Residents planning outdoor ceremonies, neighborhood events or afternoon travel should find generally favorable conditions.

Colder November Weather Still Lies Ahead The warmer conditions will not eliminate the possibility of colder weather later this month.

The immediate story is a rapid warmup, patchy Monday fog and a cooler turn late next week.
