Minneapolis, MN – A prolonged stretch of wet weather is settling across Minnesota and western Wisconsin on Monday, November 2, with several rounds of rainfall expected through Wednesday night. Central Minnesota could receive 2 to 3 inches of rain, with isolated locations potentially seeing even higher totals.
According to the National Weather Service Twin Cities office, rain moved into the region early Monday and is expected to continue intermittently over the next three days, bringing periods of heavier showers and occasional thunder.
Forecasters expect the greatest rainfall accumulations across central Minnesota, while the broader region could receive between 1 and 3 inches through Wednesday.
Central Minnesota Faces Heaviest Rainfall Communities including St. Cloud, Alexandria, Mankato and the Minneapolis St. Paul metropolitan area will experience changing rain chances throughout the early workweek.
The heaviest totals are forecast across central Minnesota, where 2 to 3 inches could accumulate before the system moves away.
Monday's temperatures will remain unusually mild, with afternoon highs generally ranging from 58 to 64 degrees.
A few thunderstorms are possible, although the forecast does not identify a widespread severe weather threat.
Rain Continues Tuesday and Wednesday Tuesday will bring additional rounds of showers, with temperatures climbing into the upper 50s and 60s.
Rain chances remain elevated Wednesday, when cooler air begins moving into the region.
High temperatures Wednesday are expected to range from 46 to 54 degrees, a noticeable drop from earlier in the week.
The repeated rainfall could produce standing water on roads and reduced visibility during morning and evening commutes.
When Will the Rain End? Rain chances are expected to gradually decrease Thursday, with precipitation ending during the morning across western Wisconsin.
Thursday temperatures will be cooler, with highs generally between 45 and 50 degrees and overnight lows falling into the 30s.
Residents should monitor updated forecasts, particularly in locations receiving repeated rounds of heavier rainfall.
