Minneapolis, MN – Breezy winds will sweep across the Twin Cities area Wednesday, Oct. 7, before temperatures turn cooler Thursday and then rebound into the 70s in some locations Friday.
According to the National Weather Service Twin Cities, wind gusts between 20 and 30 mph are expected from later Wednesday morning into the afternoon. High temperatures will range from 68 to 73 degrees.
Wednesday will be slightly cooler than Tuesday, though temperatures are still expected to run above normal for early October. Overnight lows will fall into the 43 to 48 degree range.
A more noticeable cooldown arrives Thursday. Partly cloudy skies are forecast, with highs ranging from 63 to 68 degrees. Overnight temperatures could fall as low as 40 degrees, with lows across the forecast area ranging from 40 to 50.
The NWS outlook does not indicate frost or freeze conditions, and no precipitation is highlighted during the three day period.
Temperatures rebound Friday as mostly sunny conditions return. Highs are forecast from 69 to 75 degrees, potentially putting the warmest locations about 10 degrees above Thursday's coolest projected highs across the broader forecast area. Friday night will also be milder, with lows ranging from 50 to 60.
The NWS described Friday as feeling "much more like fall" despite the daytime temperature recovery.
