Minneapolis, Minnesota – Fall begins Tuesday with sunshine and highs in the low 60s before temperatures tumble into the 40s overnight across much of the region.
According to the National Weather Service Twin Cities, mostly sunny skies return Tuesday with regional highs ranging from 60 to 65 degrees. Overnight lows will range from 37 to 47, with parts of Wisconsin dipping into the upper 30s.
Wednesday remains cool and mainly dry. Partly cloudy skies are expected with highs from 60 to 65 degrees and overnight lows of 45 to 50.
The weather pattern begins changing Thursday as temperatures climb and rain chances return. Highs will reach 65 to 70 degrees, followed by overnight lows from 50 to 55.
Friday should remain mostly cloudy but dry in the outlook provided, with another afternoon in the 65 to 70 degree range. Overnight temperatures remain considerably milder than Tuesday night, falling to between 50 and 55.
Rain chances return again Saturday as highs hold between 65 and 70 degrees. Saturday night lows range from 52 to 57.
For Twin Cities residents, Tuesday evening and early Wednesday will bring the most noticeable early fall chill. People heading out before sunrise should plan for temperatures in the 40s, while communities farther east in Wisconsin could experience readings in the upper 30s.
The region then transitions toward more seasonable temperatures. After Tuesday's cool start to astronomical fall, temperatures gradually warm through the week, with rain chances returning Thursday and again during the weekend.
