Duluth, MN – Cooler weather will settle across northeastern Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin Thursday, Oct. 8, with daytime highs limited to the upper 50s and lower 60s and overnight temperatures falling into the 30s in some locations.
According to the National Weather Service in Duluth, quiet weather will generally continue through the workweek, with partly cloudy conditions Thursday and highs ranging from 57 to 64 degrees.
Thursday night will be chilly, with lows forecast from 35 to 42 degrees across the broader forecast area. The NWS outlook does not specifically forecast frost or indicate any frost or freeze alerts.
Before the cooler Thursday, Wednesday highs will range from 61 to 70 degrees. Most areas will be mostly sunny, but portions of Minnesota's Arrowhead could see sprinkles or light rain during the afternoon. Lower rain chances extend into northwest Wisconsin.
A similar setup develops Friday, when clouds increase across northern portions of the region and light afternoon rain is possible in the same general areas.
Temperatures will rebound Friday. Highs are forecast from 60 to 71 degrees, while nighttime lows become noticeably milder at 43 to 55 degrees.
No significant rainfall amounts or hazardous weather are highlighted in the NWS outlook. The precipitation expected Wednesday and potentially Friday is characterized as sprinkles or light rain rather than a widespread heavy rain event.
Residents should expect Thursday to be the coolest day in the three day outlook, with highs of 57 to 64 and nighttime readings potentially reaching the middle 30s before temperatures recover Friday.
