Marquette, MI – Michigan's Upper Peninsula is heading into a stretch of cooler, cloudier weather from Tuesday, October 13, through Thursday, October 15, as morning rain and isolated thunderstorms give way to more seasonable temperatures across the region.
According to the National Weather Service in Marquette, rain showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected to end from west to east through midmorning Tuesday, leaving mostly cloudy skies for the remainder of the day.
Temperatures will trend closer to normal Wednesday, with cooler conditions continuing through the middle of the week.
Tuesday Showers End, Clouds Remain
Rain showers and isolated thunderstorms will gradually move out of the Upper Peninsula Tuesday morning.
Once precipitation ends, overcast skies are expected to dominate much of the afternoon.
High temperatures Tuesday will range from approximately 49 to 66 degrees, with the warmest conditions expected across southern portions of the region.
Drivers traveling during the morning hours should remain alert for wet pavement and reduced visibility where showers persist.
Wednesday Brings Cooler Temperatures
By Wednesday, October 14, the Upper Peninsula will experience more seasonable fall conditions, with mostly cloudy skies and daytime highs ranging from 49 to 58 degrees.
Northern communities could struggle to reach 50 degrees, while locations farther south may experience somewhat milder afternoon temperatures.
The cooler conditions represent a return toward typical mid October weather rather than an unusually severe cold outbreak.
Rain Chances Return Thursday Afternoon
Another opportunity for rainfall arrives Thursday, October 15, when afternoon showers are possible across portions of the Upper Peninsula.
High temperatures are expected to range from 51 to 58 degrees, keeping conditions relatively cool throughout the day.
Residents planning outdoor activities, construction work or travel should prepare for cloudy skies and the possibility of wet conditions later Thursday.
The National Weather Service expects temperatures to remain seasonable through midweek, with no significant severe weather threat highlighted in the latest forecast graphic.
Residents across Marquette County and surrounding Upper Peninsula communities should continue monitoring updated forecasts as rain chances develop later in the week.
