Gaylord, MI – Frost and freeze conditions are expected to return to parts of northern Michigan Sunday night and again Monday night, with some temperatures potentially falling into the 20s.
According to the National Weather Service in Gaylord, early sunshine Saturday will give way to increasing clouds, followed by a chance of showers Saturday evening through early Sunday morning.
Saturday highs are forecast to range from 60 to 66 degrees, with nighttime temperatures falling into the 37 to 47 degree range.
Sunday will be somewhat warmer, with highs ranging from 60 to 70 degrees. Any remaining shower chances should be concentrated early in the day before drier conditions take over.
The bigger change arrives Sunday night into Monday morning. Temperatures are forecast to fall between 30 and 41 degrees across northern Michigan, creating frost or freeze conditions in at least portions of the region.
Monday will be cooler and brisk, with highs ranging from 53 to 63 degrees. Another cold night follows, with lows forecast between 27 and 39 degrees Monday night into Tuesday morning.
Those temperatures could support a more widespread freeze in colder locations, although the NWS graphic does not specify the exact communities expected to fall below 32 degrees or indicate a Freeze Warning.
Tuesday should turn somewhat warmer during the afternoon, with partly cloudy conditions and highs of 60 to 65 degrees.
Residents with remaining frost sensitive vegetation should monitor updated forecasts and any frost or freeze products issued by the National Weather Service, particularly for Sunday and Monday nights.
