Detroit, MI — Residents across southeast Michigan can expect a stretch of dry autumn weather from Thursday, Oct. 22, through Sunday, Oct. 25, with chilly overnight temperatures dipping into the 30s before afternoon highs climb into the lower 70s by the end of the weekend.
According to the National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac, dry weather will persist across the region through Sunday, bringing plenty of sunshine, light winds and gradually warming daytime temperatures.
Thursday will feature sunny skies with light northerly winds and afternoon highs ranging from 64 to 68 degrees. The comfortable conditions will provide a pleasant start to the four day forecast period.
Friday will bring partly sunny skies, with afternoon temperatures reaching between 62 and 68 degrees. Overnight lows are forecast to fall between 38 and 44 degrees, bringing a noticeable chill to the region.
Saturday will remain dry and sunny, with highs between 64 and 68 degrees. Temperatures could drop as low as 36 degrees overnight in some locations, making for another chilly start.
By Sunday, a gradual warming trend will become more noticeable. Forecasters expect partly sunny skies and afternoon highs between 68 and 72 degrees, making Sunday potentially the warmest day of the forecast period.
The extended dry pattern should provide favorable conditions for fall festivals, outdoor recreation, yardwork and weekend travel throughout metro Detroit and surrounding southeast Michigan communities.
Residents heading outdoors during the early morning or late evening hours should prepare for temperatures considerably cooler than afternoon readings.
While temperatures in the 30s may develop in colder locations, the National Weather Service graphic does not indicate a widespread freeze.
No significant rainfall is shown in the four day forecast, allowing the dry weather pattern to continue through the weekend.
