Ann Arbor City Council approved a Tenants Bill of Rights granting renters protections to organize without landlord interference, with violations punishable by fines. The meeting also highlighted calls for safer roads, bike lanes and transit infrastructure after a recent crash near City Hall. More than 2,000 crashes were reported in 2025, underscoring the stakes of the debate.
