A newly FDA approved drug, daraxonrasib, doubled median survival for patients with previously treated metastatic pancreatic cancer, from 6.7 to 13.2 months. The treatment targets KRAS, a protein long considered difficult to inhibit. Researchers view the advance as an important first step that could reshape care for a cancer with a 13.7% five year survival rate.
