Boston, Massachusetts – Tuesday will bring the week's coolest weather to southern New England, with Boston reaching the upper 60s before temperatures climb again.
According to the National Weather Service in Boston, Tuesday will be the coldest day of the upcoming week, with high temperatures generally in the upper 60s and low 70s. Warmer and increasingly humid conditions will develop from midweek into late week.
Boston temperatures are expected to start Tuesday near 53 degrees around midnight and fall to about 51 by 6 a.m. Readings rise to 64 degrees around noon before reaching about 66 during the afternoon.
Cool conditions will extend across Massachusetts, Rhode Island and nearby coastal communities. Worcester is expected to be around 48 degrees at 6 a.m. Tuesday before climbing into the upper 60s during the afternoon. Springfield could fall to about 49 Tuesday morning and reach the low 70s by afternoon.
Providence is expected to start Tuesday morning in the mid 50s before reaching the upper 60s. Coastal areas remain cooler, with Provincetown generally staying in the low to mid 60s Tuesday afternoon.
The cooler temperatures should limit heat related concerns for Tuesday travel and outdoor activities. People heading out early may want an extra layer, particularly across inland communities where readings could fall into the upper 40s and low 50s.
Temperatures begin climbing Wednesday, with several inland locations reaching the 70s. The warming trend continues Thursday, when Hartford and Springfield could reach around 80 degrees. Humidity will also increase from midweek into late week, marking a noticeable change from Tuesday's cooler conditions.
