Boston, MA – Cooler, drier weather will settle across southern New England Saturday before clouds increase Sunday and scattered showers become possible overnight into Monday morning.
According to the National Weather Service in Boston, clearing skies and dry conditions are expected Saturday, with afternoon highs generally in the 60s.
Sunday starts dry but brings increasing cloud cover as the day progresses. High temperatures are forecast in the lower to mid 60s.
Scattered showers could develop Sunday night and continue into Monday morning. The NWS said the best chance for showers will be south of the Massachusetts Turnpike, making the precipitation potential greater across southern portions of the region.
The forecast calls for scattered showers rather than widespread or continuous rainfall, and the NWS graphic does not provide specific rainfall totals.
Conditions should improve during Monday as skies clear. Afternoon temperatures will range from the mid 50s to mid 60s, making Monday generally cooler than the weekend.
The weather service expects Monday to mark the beginning of a dry and cool stretch across southern New England.
For Boston and surrounding communities, the weekend will therefore feature mostly favorable conditions during the daytime, with Saturday offering clearing skies before clouds increase Sunday.
Residents should expect the main opportunity for rain Sunday night into Monday morning, especially south of the Massachusetts Turnpike, followed by clearing skies and cooler, drier conditions.
