Boston, MA – Mild weather Friday will give way to a cooler, mainly dry weekend across southern New England, with another chance of showers arriving late Sunday.
According to the National Weather Service in Boston, Friday will be dry for much of the day before showers develop during the late afternoon or evening. An isolated thunderstorm is also possible Friday night.
Temperatures will remain mild ahead of that change, with Friday highs ranging from 70 to 82 degrees across the NWS Boston forecast area. Overnight lows are expected to fall between 48 and 57 degrees.
Saturday brings a noticeable change. Sunshine and seasonable temperatures are forecast, with highs from 62 to 70 degrees. Saturday night will be cooler, with lows ranging from 40 to 50 degrees.
Sunday should remain dry for most of the day and mainly sunny. Highs are forecast from 60 to 64 degrees. The next chance for showers develops late Sunday afternoon or Sunday evening, according to the NWS outlook.
Those showers should give way to mainly dry weather Monday, when highs are expected to range from 60 to 68 degrees. Overnight lows Sunday into Monday are forecast from 44 to 52 degrees.
The outlook does not indicate a washout for the weekend. Saturday is expected to stay dry, while most of Sunday should also remain rain free before the late day shower chance develops.
By Tuesday, cooler conditions are expected to become established across the region. Readers should expect the most significant temperature change between Friday's mild conditions and the seasonably cool weekend and early next week.
