Boston, MA – Unseasonably warm weather will continue across southern New England Thursday and Friday before a cold front brings scattered showers and noticeably cooler conditions Saturday.
According to the National Weather Service in Boston, Thursday will be partly sunny after possible patchy fog during the early morning. High temperatures are forecast to reach 75 to 79 degrees across much of the region, while areas along the South Coast remain closer to 70.
Thursday night lows are expected to range from 50 to 57 degrees.
Friday will be the warmest day of the three day period. Highs are forecast from 77 to 83 degrees in many locations, again with readings closer to 70 along the South Coast.
A cold front approaching the region may trigger scattered showers late Friday, with showers becoming especially possible Friday night. Overnight temperatures are forecast to remain relatively mild, with lows of 61 to 67 degrees.
Behind the front, Saturday will bring a distinct change. Sunny skies are expected, but highs will fall into the 63 to 69 degree range across much of the region. The Weather Service noted that a few locations could approach 70 degrees.
Saturday night temperatures are forecast to drop to between 49 and 57 degrees.
The primary weather transition will come late Friday into Saturday as the cold front ends the brief stretch of unusually warm early October temperatures. Residents can expect the warmest conditions Friday, a chance for scattered showers Friday night and a sunny, cooler Saturday.
