Hagerstown, MD – Authorities in western Maryland are asking residents across the Maryland Pennsylvania border to remain alert Tuesday, October 27, as deputies search for a missing 79 year old Hagerstown man who may have traveled into Pennsylvania overnight.
According to the Washington County Sheriff 's Office, Robert Wallace Skok, 79, was last seen leaving his Hagerstown residence at approximately 6:30 p.m. Monday, October 26, in a dark blue 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe.
The vehicle bears Maryland registration 39205HT , a detail authorities hope will help residents identify the SUV.
Investigators reported that Skok was possibly in the Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, area around 3:10 a.m. Tuesday. That information has not been confirmed as a verified sighting, but it expands the area where residents are being asked to watch for him.
Skok is described as a white male standing approximately 6 feet, 1 inch tall and weighing about 300 pounds. He has white hair and was last seen wearing a white shirt and black pants.
The sheriff's office expressed concern for his welfare and urged the public to remain vigilant.
The possible connection to Chambersburg, in Franklin County, Pennsylvania, places the search across state lines, with residents in the Hagerstown and Chambersburg areas encouraged to pay particular attention to vehicles matching the description.
Authorities have not publicly disclosed the circumstances surrounding Skok's disappearance or provided additional details about why they are concerned for his safety.
Anyone who has seen Skok, spotted his Hyundai Santa Fe or has information about his whereabouts is urged to contact the Washington County Sheriff's Office at 240 313 2170 .
Residents are also encouraged to share the official missing person notice to help authorities locate Skok and bring him home safely.
