Baltimore, MD – Cooler weather is settling across the Baltimore Washington region Saturday, with light rain early before another round of rain arrives late tonight and Sunday.
According to the National Weather Service Baltimore/Washington office, a cold front continues to move south into southern Virginia. Behind the front, light rain stretches from west central Virginia into northeast Maryland during the early morning hours.
Drier air is expected to move into the region later Saturday as high pressure builds north of the front. Temperatures will be noticeably cooler than recent conditions, with Saturday highs ranging from about 50 to 71 degrees across the broader forecast area. Overnight lows are forecast from the mid 40s to mid 60s.
Rain chances increase again late Saturday night and continue during the day Sunday. Sunday highs are forecast from 52 to 69 degrees, with lows ranging from the lower 40s to mid 60s.
Conditions should trend drier Monday. The NWS forecast calls for highs ranging from 58 to 73 degrees, while Monday night temperatures could fall considerably lower, with lows from about 34 to 52 degrees across the region.
The temperature ranges cover the broad Baltimore Washington forecast area, so conditions will vary considerably by location and elevation.
Residents should expect a cooler Saturday, renewed rain late tonight into Sunday, then improving conditions Monday.
