BALTIMORE — November is beginning with a steady warming trend across Baltimore, with temperatures expected to climb from the mid 60s Sunday into the 70s by Tuesday and reach around 74 degrees Wednesday and Thursday before rain chances increase late in the week.
The National Weather Service forecast for Baltimore calls for a high near 65 Sunday, Nov. 1, followed by 67 Monday. Temperatures climb to around 71 Tuesday before reaching 74 Wednesday and Thursday. Friday remains unusually mild near 72, with a high around 69 forecast Saturday.
70s Arrive Tuesday Clouds gradually decrease Sunday before mostly sunny weather takes over Monday. Tuesday and Wednesday are also expected to be mostly sunny, helping temperatures continue their early November climb.
Nighttime temperatures warm noticeably as well. Sunday night falls to around 47, followed by 48 Monday night and 53 Tuesday night. By Wednesday night, Baltimore is forecast to remain near 60 degrees.
That gives the city a clear progression from a relatively cool opening to November into a much milder midweek pattern.
Rain Returns Nov. 5–6 The first rain chance appears late Wednesday night, but only at 20%.
Thursday brings a more meaningful change. The Weather Service forecasts a 50% chance of rain with a high near 74. Rain becomes likely Thursday night, when precipitation chances rise to 60% and temperatures only fall to around 61.
Friday carries another 50% chance of rain with a high near 72, followed by a 40% chance Friday night. Saturday currently trends drier, with only a 20% rain chance, partly sunny skies and a high near 69.
November Warmth Could Hold The local warmup fits the broader November pattern across Maryland and the Mid Atlantic.
NOAA's November outlook favors above normal temperatures across the region, while the Climate Prediction Center's separate Nov. 8–14 outlook continues to favor above normal temperatures across the Mid Atlantic. The desk's regional guidance identifies a warm first half of November as the primary story for this part of the country.
Precipitation provides a weaker extended signal. Much of the Mid Atlantic is closer to near normal precipitation during Nov. 8–14, making temperature the stronger long range story.
The warm outlook does not mean Baltimore will remain in the 70s every day through Nov. 14. Individual cold fronts and cooler days remain possible; the CPC outlook describes the average temperature across the full seven day period.
For Baltimore, though, the immediate numbers are clear: 71 Tuesday, 74 Wednesday and Thursday, then 72 Friday before temperatures ease slightly next weekend.
It remains too early for a specific Thanksgiving Day forecast on Nov. 26, but the persistent warm signal is worth watching as Maryland moves toward Thanksgiving and the holiday travel season.
