Baltimore, MD – Sunshine and temperatures approaching 70 degrees will give Baltimore a mild start to the week. But a significant weather change is approaching, bringing rain, colder air and temperatures falling into the middle 30s by Friday night, Nov. 13.
The shift could produce a 33 degree difference between Tuesday's warmest afternoon and Friday night's coldest temperatures, offering an early reminder that winter is approaching across Maryland.
According to the National Weather Service Baltimore/Washington office, Baltimore could reach 67 degrees Tuesday, Nov. 10, before rain chances climb to 70% Thursday night.
Warm November Weather Before the Pattern Changes
Baltimore residents can expect several comfortable afternoons before colder conditions arrive.
Monday, Nov. 9, brings sunshine and highs near 62 degrees. West winds could gust to 33 mph, making it a breezy day despite the mild temperatures.
Tuesday looks even warmer, with sunshine and highs near 67 degrees.
Veterans Day, Wednesday, Nov. 11, continues the pleasant stretch with sunny skies and temperatures near 66 degrees.
These warmer afternoons provide an opportunity to finish leaf cleanup and secure outdoor decorations before the next weather system arrives.
Rain Chances Jump to 70% Thursday Night
The pattern begins changing Thursday, Nov. 12.
Rain becomes likely after 1 p.m., with precipitation chances reaching 60% and afternoon temperatures near 58 degrees.
Thursday night brings an even higher 70% chance of rain, with temperatures falling near 39 degrees.
Drivers traveling Interstate 95, Interstate 83 and Interstate 695 should prepare for potentially wet pavement and reduced visibility during periods of rain.
Friday remains unsettled, with a 40% chance of rain and afternoon highs near 51 degrees.
Temperatures Could Fall Near Freezing Friday Night
The colder air becomes more noticeable Friday night into Saturday morning, Nov. 14.
Baltimore's forecast low reaches approximately 34 degrees, just two degrees above freezing.
That represents a 33 degree difference from Tuesday's expected high of 67 degrees.
While widespread freezing conditions are not currently forecast for Baltimore, colder neighborhoods and sheltered locations could experience lower temperatures.
Could Baltimore See Snow Before Thanksgiving?
Early season snow opportunities are appearing across colder portions of the Great Lakes and northern New England.
However, Baltimore's current official forecast continues to favor rain rather than snow.
No snowfall accumulation or winter weather advisory is indicated for the city.
As Thanksgiving approaches, residents should monitor updated forecasts for additional temperature changes and precipitation opportunities.
