Lochearn, MD – A 13 year old boy has died following a bicycle collision that occurred late last month. The Baltimore County Police Department confirmed on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, that the victim, identified as Caden Morgan, was pronounced deceased on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
According to investigators, the incident took place on Friday, August 28, 2026, at the intersection of Essex Road and Yataruba Drive. Preliminary reports indicate that Morgan was riding his bicycle on Yataruba Drive and was attempting to enter the intersection when he was struck by a 2017 Audi traveling northbound on Essex Road.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene following the collision. Police have not filed charges at this time, as the investigation remains active and ongoing.
Detectives with the Baltimore County Police Department& 39;s Crash Team are continuing to analyze the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident. They are asking any witnesses who have not yet come forward to reach out to the department as they work to complete the accident reconstruction.
The community has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of the young resident. Further details will be released as the investigation proceeds.
