Lewiston Shooting Investigated by State Police Following Death Today
Maine State Police are investigating a fatal shooting outside a Lewiston tavern. One victim died and another was injured; a suspect is cooperating today.

LEWISTON, ME – The Maine State Police are currently investigating a fatal shooting that took place outside the Blue Goose Tavern on September 2, 2026. Authorities were called to the scene early in the morning following reports of gunfire.
According to the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit, one male victim died as a result of the incident, while a female victim was treated for her injuries. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the event is ongoing.
A suspect has been identified in connection with the shooting. Officials state that the individual is currently cooperating with law enforcement as the investigation proceeds. The suspect allegedly involved remains a key focus for detectives assigned to the case.
