Davenport, Iowa – Weekend plans across eastern Iowa and western Illinois could face interruptions as temperatures climb as high as 86 degrees Saturday and scattered showers and thunderstorms develop across the Quad Cities region.
According to the National Weather Service Quad Cities office, warm conditions will continue through the weekend, with afternoon highs generally in the 70s and 80s. Thunderstorm chances range from 20% to 40% Saturday before increasing to between 20% and 50% Sunday.
Friday offers the best opportunity for outdoor activities, with mostly sunny skies and highs between 79 and 83 degrees. Overnight temperatures ahead of Friday fall into the 55 to 61 degree range under quiet conditions.
Saturday turns warmer, with highs ranging from 78 to 86 degrees. Storms will not affect every location, but residents attending games, festivals or other outdoor events should have a way to receive weather alerts and move indoors if thunder develops.
Sunday brings highs from 72 to 81 degrees along with the weekend& 39;s higher precipitation probability. Drivers could encounter brief wet roads and reduced visibility beneath heavier showers.
