Paducah, KY – Rain chances will climb to 90% in Paducah early Sunday, Oct. 11, as gusty winds and cooler temperatures move into western Kentucky this weekend, ending a stretch of unseasonably warm weather.
According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, Friday, Oct. 9, will remain dry and very warm, with highs reaching the upper 80s across much of western Kentucky, southern Illinois, southeastern Missouri and southwestern Indiana.
Paducah is forecast to reach 88 degrees Friday, while Evansville, Indiana, and Carbondale, Illinois, could reach 87 degrees.
Conditions will change Saturday, Oct. 10, as rain chances increase and temperatures drop significantly. Paducah's high is forecast to reach just 70 degrees, an 18 degree decrease from Friday.
Rain probabilities in Paducah rise to 45% around noon Saturday and 75% by evening before reaching 90% early Sunday.
Gusty winds will accompany the changing weather. Paducah could experience gusts reaching 28 mph Saturday afternoon, while Hopkinsville could see gusts near 30 mph. New Madrid, Missouri, could experience gusts up to 31 mph.
Rain chances will also increase across southwestern Indiana, with Evansville and Owensboro, Kentucky, reaching 95% early Sunday.
Sunday temperatures will remain cooler, with highs near 75 degrees in Paducah, 72 in Evansville and 77 in Carbondale.
