Paducah, KY – A dry and increasingly warm stretch is expected Oct. 5 9, with afternoon temperatures around the lower to mid 80s later in the week.
The National Weather Service in Paducah said Sunday that temperatures should remain near normal through the middle of the week before climbing about 5 to 10 degrees above normal by Friday. Dry conditions are expected for the next several days.
Monday, Oct. 5, is forecast to be sunny with highs ranging from 74 to 79 degrees across the Paducah forecast area. Tuesday should also be sunny, with highs of 76 to 81.
Temperatures then begin climbing. Wednesday is forecast to reach 80 to 85 degrees, followed by highs of 81 to 86 Thursday and Friday.
The warmer temperatures are the most notable part of the coming week's forecast, particularly late in the workweek when readings are expected to run above early October normals.
No rain is indicated through Friday in the NWS outlook. The next chance for precipitation is expected Saturday afternoon and evening, mainly across western Kentucky. Saturday's highs are forecast from 79 to 84 degrees.
For readers following the forecast through Oct. 5 10 , the main trend is several dry days followed by a late week warmup. The next meaningful change to watch will be Saturday's returning rain chance, especially across western Kentucky.
